About US-CEE Connection Weekend:

The Connection Weekend is an annual Conference co-sponsored by Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law in Washington D.C. and Jagiellonian University in Kraków. The American Chamber of Commerce in Poland is among the conference’s Strategic Partners.Every year, the US-CEE Connection Weekend brings together lawyers, business leaders, academics, government officials, civil society representatives, and students interested in US and EU approaches to current issues and their impact on US and CEE country relations.  While last year’s conference focused exclusively on ESG, this year’s theme will encompass a broader range of topics centered on the competitiveness of EU and US legal systems. We believe that the theme of the event will be even more exceptionally lively, especially in light of the recently published document on the competitiveness of the EU (The EU Compass).

With this year’s conference theme, ’Safeguards or Barriers? EU & US Perspectives on Regulation’, participants will engage in discussions on key regulatory issues, including capital markets, international trade, sustainability, and digital transformation. Recent shifts in government on both sides of the Atlantic have renewed focus on the issues above, with further changes in regulatory approaches on the horizon. The event will feature a dynamic mix of keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive problem-solving sessions. The Conference will also include social events to allow alumni and other attendees to meet old friends and make new contacts.

About 2024 edition: In case you haven’t heard of us, the 2024 Agenda included, among others, The Honorable Hester M. Peirce, Commissioner, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); The Honorable Phyllis C.
